Some recent comments from our students:

I like the way the course is taught very much. It really suits me. I have done other courses but this is much more effective - being immersive and steers clear of scary grammatical terms. My teacher is terrific - very engaging, lively with a light, humorous touch (but rigorous at the same time).

Je veux exprimer ma gratitude à tous à l'Alliance. Grâce à vous, un futur pour ma famille au Canada est une vraie possibilité.

I am very much enjoying my experience in class 3a. Having taken classes at Alliance Française for two years I am very pleased with the teaching methods and approaches used. The level of conversation and interaction has increased in each module and the way this is combined with new, or reinforcing previously taught, grammar is very helpful in developing capabilities. I find the comprehensive lesson records and information placed on Easyclass allow me to get up to speed with what I’ve missed and contribute to the next class I attend.

I have been in ....'s class on a Tuesday evening for two terms, and he is a superb teacher. He is encouraging, motivating and thorough.  We get through a lot of grammar and vocabulary, but always in a lively manner. His imaginative discussion sessions on news and issues of the day engage the entire class. . He is the best French teacher I have ever had.

I would like to thank Alliance Française ... for a great learning experience. This has to be the most informative and interactive class I have ever attended. And I must admit it challenged me and pushed me to learn and improve. Thank you once again.

Eric

I just want to say that it has been terrific... and the camaraderie of our class has been an unanticipated pleasure. Formidable!

I did six weeks at Alliance House and I want to thank you all for a very useful and enjoyable experience. Our tutor was a first class teacher: energetic and encouraging – using interesting material (I learned a lot about French thinking and culture as well as the language); and in an agreeably small class.

Stephen

... has been the best language teacher I've had in years. She was really giving 100% and I was very impressed from the very first class - with her engagement and that she never wasted our time.

Magdalena

I experienced an unforgettable journey at the Alliance Française de Londres, a cherished period of my life.

Amir

The teacher, the class format and the learning experience itself were all fantastic and I would definitely recommend the course to others wishing to learn French.

Christina

When I started the class, I was extremely nervous having not learnt a language for over ten years. Her friendly, supportive and engaging style meant that I quickly overcame my nerves, saw my competency rapidly improve and even had some fun along the way!

I have now signed up for 1C, something I did not expect when I started in September and have also recommended the Alliance Française to a friend.

Jo

I can't say enough positive comments about his teaching. He is endlessly patient, inventive and intuitive - a really gifted teacher. I have learned so much in a very short time. I definitely want to continue learning French with Alliance Francaise. Thank you

Emma

And from a former President of the Alliance Française:

« Le nom lui-même d’Alliance, inventé par les géniaux initiateurs, nous enseigne le respect de l’Autre, de sa personnalité, de sa culture. On n’est jamais un étranger dans une Alliance Française et par voie de conséquence la culture française n’est jamais une culture étrangère imposée par un Etat hégémonique. Elle nous appartient […] et est le moyen privilégié de mieux connaître notre propre culture . »

Sir Edward Tomkins - President of the Alliance française in the UK, 1976-1998.
